The Node Members collaborate in topic-focused groups and activities and host an open forum for networking and exchange of ideas at our LinkedIn Group throughout the year.
Epaminondas Christofilopoulos, Head of International Cooperation in PRAXI Network / FORTH, and co-Chair of the Greek Node of the Millennium Project
Epaminondas has worked in the fields of technology transfer, research commercialization and international research cooperation, coordinating several projects around the globe. Since 2010, Epaminondas draws particular focus on future studies and foresight. He is a member of the World Future Society (WFS), a Certified Future Strategist and Co-Chair of the Greek Node of the Millennium Project.
Alexandra Gouta, Financial News Editor and Editor-in-Chief at the ANA-MPA press agency (Thessaloniki Office)
Besides being an Editor-in-Chief at the ANA-MPA press agency, Alexandra is radio presenter/hostess of a radio show presenting interesting stories of startups and also interviews with businessmen and key players in the economy. She is also a founding member of “Journalists Acting”, a volunteer group set up by 23 journalists of Northern Greece with the objective to create at remote villages, libraries for children and young people.
Lina Liakou, Deputy Mayor of Thessaloniki in Urban Resilience and Development Planning, and Chief Resilience Officer.
Lina is an architect and urban designer with a strong academic background and five years of professional experience in architectural design and urban planning in the private and public sector. She is always Interested in community-based planning and research, public participation strategies, non-profit management.
Dr Leon Kapetas, Research Associate in Resilient Water Systems at the University of Cambridge.
Leon has worked extensively in research and consulting roles in the field of natural resources management. He has gained international experience in Europe, Latin America and the Middle East. Leon is interested in human-environment interactions and the identification of sustainable practices in natural resources management.
Dr. Evangelos Kosmidis, Scientific Adviser, CREVIS Sprl, Belgium. Founder Draxis Environmental Technology SA.
He is High Level Expert consultant in special content databases (environmental, geographical and related domains) and decision support systems in networking environments. He is Very experienced in environmental impact assessment studies and very active in the field of air quality in urban environments.
He is a International Certified Future Strategist. He has participated in the development and management of many strategic environmental projects (in the Public and Private Sector) as well as database management systems for ministries, research organizations and private companies (Ministry of Environment, European Commission). Has also participated in the development of many private and commercial software products.
Stavros Mantzanakis, CEO of EMETRIS SA, and co-Chair of the Greek Node of the Millennium Project.
Stavros has over 20 years of managerial experience in companies and institutions, is the CEO, founding Partner and head of Innovation department of Emetris SA, a business consulting company specializing in Futures Studies, Strategic, Business and Financial planning, and Innovation. Stavros is also a tutor at the International Certified Future Strategist (ICFS) program that runs annualy in Stockholm .
Dr. Nikos Mavridis, Founder and Director of the Interactive Robots and Media Laboratory (IRML), and researcher at the National Center for Scientific Research Demokritos.
After his PhD at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Media Lab, Nikos has founded the Interactive Robots and Media Laboratory (IRML) which started at the United Arab Emirates University. In 2013, Nikos decided to move some of his activities to Greece, while still keeping an important presence in the Emirates, and was appointed as a researcher at NCSR Demokritos, Greece’s premier research lab. The Interactive Robots and Media Lab (IRML) has grown as one of the leading laboratories in Interactive Robots and Media in the wider region, hosting multiple leading-edge projects, which have been covered on TV and other worldwide media.
Stavros Katsios, Professor of International Economic Relations and International Economic Crime at the Ionian University, Corfu, Greece
He is a lawyer and Director of the Laboratory for Geocultural Analyses; he has served as Vice Rector for Economic Management and Development. His research is focused on International Economic Law and Economic Crime and has done extensive consulting work for the Greek Government as an expert on contract of the World Bank and as the head of the Working Group National Vulnerability of the Greek National Risk Assessment Expert Committee on Money Laundering and Corruption and previously as a Member of the Working Group “Non Tax Revenues–Money Laundering Proceeds” for drafting the Greek Tax Law. He is an expert member of the Global Initiative against Organised Crime and a founding member of the Yellow Tourism research Consortium.
